Aramco Americas volunteers support food banks across three U.S. cities

More than 200 volunteers from Aramco, SABIC Americas and Motiva Enterprises joined forces with longtime community partner Houston Food Bank.
Aramco Americas employees and family members volunteered July 22 at food banks in Houston, Washington, D.C., and Detroit, helping provide meals and support to communities facing food insecurity during the summer months.
The largest volunteer effort took place in Houston, where more than 200 volunteers from Aramco, SABIC Americas and Motiva Enterprises joined forces with longtime community partner Houston Food Bank. Employees in Washington, D.C., supported DC Central Kitchen, while the Detroit Research Center partnered with Gleaners Community Food Bank.

In Houston, volunteers sorted and stacked food for distribution across Houston Food Bank's 18-county service area. By the end of the shift, volunteers had stacked 37 pallets and sorted 33,839 pounds of food, helping provide an estimated 28,199 meals to families across Southeast Texas.
"We can't do what we do without you," said Amy Ragan, chief development officer at Houston Food Bank, thanking volunteers for Aramco's continued partnership over the past 12 years.

In Washington, D.C., Aramco Americas volunteers helped process fresh produce and supported meal production.
In Washington, D.C., 12 volunteers contributed 36 hours of service at DC Central Kitchen, helping process fresh produce and support meal production. The organization prepares up to 17,000 scratch-cooked meals each day for community members experiencing food insecurity.

In Detroit, volunteers supported Gleaners Community Food Bank by packing 2,464 pounds of food and nearly 2,000 meals.

In Detroit, 13 employees supported Gleaners Community Food Bank by packing 1,320 bags of plums, equivalent to 2,464 pounds of food and nearly 2,000 meals.

By supporting food banks in Houston, Washington, D.C., and Detroit, Aramco Group employees helped strengthen local communities and expand access to nutritious food. Based on food bank reports from the three locations, volunteers helped support more than 30,000 meals through this day of service.
