Meet our Aramco Houston Half Marathon race ambassadors

The Houston Marathon races will take to the streets in 2022, with the return of an in-person event at the George R. Brown (GRB) Convention Center and a virtual option still available to participants.

The joy of running and supporting the community 

Houston Marathon Weekend, slated for Friday, Jan. 14 through Sunday, Jan. 16, marks Aramco's 18th consecutive year as title sponsor of the Aramco Houston Half Marathon and 4th year as co-sponsor of the We Are Houston 5K.

Throughout the three-day weekend, Aramco representatives will be running and volunteering, with approximately 160 expected to tackle one of the three races and 100 signed on to do their part to support race-related activities — distributing registration packets, t-shirts, gear bags and finisher merchandise.  Volunteers will be handing out water at the 5K finish line on Saturday.

Remote runners have a four-day window, January 14-17, to run and submit their time for their registered race through a participant portal.  They can use a wearable device to track and upload their time or self-report by the January 17 deadline.  Spectators can line the course route or watch the race by live broadcast on local station ABC13 Houston.

Meet our Aramco Houston Half Marathon race ambassadors 

Dmytrii Dolhov is a 27-year-old Ukrainian who moved to Houston a couple of years ago.  He is a logistics advisor at Aramco Americas and running enthusiast, having participated in a number of half marathons through the years. 
 
In 2021 Dolhov ran his first Aramco Houston Half Marathon, setting a personal record of one hour and 41 minutes. 

“Running gives me a strong sense of discipline, and I am able to integrate that discipline into my daily life.  I think it's a great opportunity to represent Aramco while doing what I love.  Motivation makes for a better performance.” 
 
Rola Elzoor was born in Lebanon and raised in Canada.  She has lived in Houston for 21 years and is an avid runner.  In fact, she has participated in most of the official races taking place around the city of Houston.  

Elzoor is an Aramco Americas HR employee, and has worked for Aramco 13 years.  During her time with the company, she has completed seven Houston Marathons and looking to complete her 10th Aramco Houston Half Marathon in 2022.  

Her all-time favorite obsession is purchasing running shoes. She enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
