Aramco xWorks comprises 13 large-scale building bays used by students for senior design projects and team-based competitions, including a state-of-the-art engines and testing lab for traditional and alternative-engines research.
This space, when combined with the campus’ adjacent Labriola Innovation Hub, is considered the “crown jewel” of its E&I Ecosystem, which includes state-of-the-art spaces for students to collaborate, test prototypes, and produce new ideas. It is one of the largest makerspaces in the United States, and the Aramco capital gift is the first of its kind for the company in the United States.
A dedication ceremony on the campus in Golden, Colorado, was recently held and attended by Aramco representatives, school officials, and Aramco-sponsored students to celebrate the occasion.
The space will allow students to transform what they learn and do on campus into inventions that could lead to startups.
Aramco forges mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with academic institutions around the globe. Partnerships include collaborative research, in-kind donations, and support for new initiatives.
