Aramco’s energy innovation recognized in patent rankings

Our global research network has facilities located in targeted innovation hubs in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Three research centers operated by Aramco Americas are located in Boston, Houston, and Detroit.

The latest rankings from Harrity & Harrity patent law firm in their annual Patent 300® List placed Aramco 44th among the top 300 companies, organizations, and universities to receive the most U.S. patents each year.

Our global research network has facilities located in targeted innovation hubs in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Three research centers operated by Aramco Americas are located in Boston, Houston, and Detroit.

According to the report, Aramco had a 12 percent increase in the number of U.S. granted patents compared to 2021. Aramco is credited with 963 patents in 2022.

The rapid growth of patents underpins our drive for leadership in technology and innovation. Researchers acknowledge that given global challenges and the importance of low carbon economies, innovation and collaboration with partners and academia are key.   

Three research centers operated by Aramco Americas are located in Boston, Houston, and Detroit. The centers were opened in rapid succession in 2013, 2014, and 2015 respectively. The Aramco Research Center-Houston is the largest of the company's U.S. research centers and the largest outside of Saudi Arabia.
